In English class we watched the movie “Gifted”. It is about a seven-year-old girl named Mary Adler. She lives with her uncle’s and guardian, Frank. His best friend is his fiancée, Roberta. Mary has a great mathematical talent, which is admired by her teacher Bonnie Stevenson. He informs the school principal, and when he finds out about Mary’s talent, he encourages Frank to send Mary to a private school for talented children. However, Frank rejects it. Frank fears that Mary will not have a good childhood like all children.
The meaning of the film is that we have the right to our own thought, decision, choice. Every little decision can change our future և our life. I think Frank did the right thing, he did not deprive Mary of her childhood.
